I was Karl’s student in 1997 Chaing Rai, Thailand. I learned conversational English with him and found that his way of teaching very effective and fun. He was attentive to all his students and understood our individual strengths and weaknesses. He would tirelessly make us practice until we got it right! I gained a lot more confident in listening, speaking English that also helped me picking up other skills like reading and writing rather quickly.
When I finished my high school, I was sent to New Zealand to study. Upon arriving, the lessons that I took with Karl immediately came into practice such as everyday conversations, small talk, directions, reading signs, and most importantly listening to native English teachers in classroom situations.

With Karl now owning his own school and had written all his own course books, I strongly believe that he had incorporated the best possible teaching material for his students. I will highly recommend Karl and his school Language Cafe to anyone who wish to improve their English skills.
